Bruce Payne | Senior Lead Pastor
Pastor Bruce was born in Marion, Illinois and grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. He went to SIU Carbondale and completed his bachelor’s degree in Special Education. After working as a special education teacher in Southern Illinois, he and his family began attending Calvary Campus Church & Chi Alpha in June of 1998, where he felt the call to ministry and joined the Pastoral team in September of 1999. In 2006 he received his ministerial credentials as an Ordained Pastor with the Assemblies of God and became our Senior Pastor in 2013.
Kudzai Musumhi | Associate Pastor
Pastor Kudzai was born in Harare, Zimbabwe. He went to SIU Carbondale and completed his bachelor’s degree in Design (Visual Communication) and a dual master’s degree in Communications (Interactive Multimedia) and Education (Instructional Development). While an SIU student he became part of Calvary Campus Church & Chi Alpha in June of 1995. He became officially part of the pastoral staff in 2007 after finishing his internship with Chi Alpha. In 2007 he received his ministerial credentials as a Licensed Pastor with the Assemblies of God. Kudzai currently oversees Chi Alpha at SIUC and John A. Logan College.
Sayaka Ikeda | Pastor
Pastor Sayaka was born in Chiba, Japan. She came to SIU Carbondale to complete her bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and Psychology and her master’s degree in Linguistics. She became part of Calvary Campus Church & Chi Alpha in 2005 as a student. She transitioned to campus ministry internship while finishing her Master’s degree. She then joined the staff team in 2011. In 2013 she became an Ordained Pastor with the Assemblies of God. Sayaka currently helps Chi Alpha and our worship team.
Fabiola Rojas | Pastor
Pastor Fabi was born in Lima, Peru. She came to SIU Carbondale to complete her master’s in Business Administration. She became part of Calvary Campus Church & Chi Alpha in 2004. Later she transitioned to the marketplace at Purdue University, Indiana. Before coming back to Southern Illinois, she was part of the Purdue Chi Alpha team where she completed her Campus Missionary Training in 2014. She returned to Southern Illinois and joined the Calvary Campus Church staff team in 2016. In 2017 she received her ministerial credentials as a Licensed minister with the Assemblies of God. Fabi currently helps oversee Chi Alpha.
Amma Demmin | Bookkeeper
Amma was born in Santa Rosa, California. She attended Southeast Missouri State (SEMO) where she completed her bachelor’s degree in Social Work. She received her master’s degree of Accounting from SIUC. She became part of Calvary Campus Church in 2003 as a student and part time bookkeeper. She joined the staff full-time in 2006 overseeing Accounting and Finance.
